Using the brand-new character creator in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, one Destiny fan makes Zavala, the Vanguard of the Titan class.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the latest game in the popular and critically acclaimed Borderlands franchise. Acting more as a spin-off than a mainline entry in the series, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands takes players on a fantasy adventure compared to the more traditional sci-fi settings of Borderlands games. The game does include a wealth of traditional Borderlands features and content that fans of the series would expect, such as outlandish dialogue, cell-shaded graphics, and plenty of guns to loot and things to shoot. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands also sees the return of SHiFT codes, which gives players access to some free rare loot.
Thought Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands may be full of recognizable features for Borderlands fans, there are also plenty of new elements to keep the franchise’s latest entry feeling fresh. Alongside the new setting, spells, and classes that players can experience in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsthere’s also a character creator, which marks a first for Borderlands. Usually, the classes that a player can pick from match up with a specific character in Borderlands games. Yet, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands allows players a lot of freedom in who they want to play as, leading some to create their favorite character from other games and media in the game.
One Destiny 2 fan has used the character creator to make Zavala from Destiny 2. Voiced by Lance Reddick, Zavala is the Titan Vanguard in the Tower, and can supply Titan players of Destiny 2 with armor and emblems. Zavala is also a fan favorite among the Destiny 2 community, due to memes about the character and fans becoming invested in Zavala’s story as the narrative of Destiny 2 has grown with each expansion.
Using the character creator to its fullest potential, the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands player managed to make an accurate rendition of Zavala, complete with the character’s light blue/grey skin and bright eyes. Fans of Borderlands and Destiny 2 were quick to comment on the custom character with Zavala voice lines, imagining him referring to the NPCs in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands as Guardians.
Zavala isn’t the only crossover character that players have made in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Even with the game only being out for a few days, players have managed to get creative in making their own adventurer, such as one Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands player who made Shrek in-game. Often, with games that include character creators, players enjoy making wild and unique characters, especially in games with such a focus on humor as the Borderlands series.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
