These past couple years have seen Microsoft aggressively support its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, adding new day one releases and classic titles to the lineup on a near-constant basis. The new Xbox Game Pass games for March 2022 have been especially impressive, and it looks set to end the month with a bang. This week has potential to be huge for Xbox Game Pass, and it’s not just thanks to the new games that are dropping this week.

The first new Xbox Game Pass game this week is Crusader Kings 3launching Tuesday, March 29. Crusader Kings 3 is a grand strategy game that originally released for PC and is finally making its way to consoles. Crusader Kings 3 earned rave reviews when it released for PC and is considered one of the best games in its genre, so it launching as a day one Xbox Game Pass game is definitely a big deal for the service. It ensures that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have a guaranteed high quality game to check out on March 29, though it should be noted that the game is only coming to Xbox Series X/S (and is already available on PC Game Pass), so fans should keep that in mind.

Crusader Kings 3 is pretty much a sure-bet for Xbox Game Pass, but it’s not the only day one game coming to the service this week. Xbox Game Pass subscribers also have Weird West to look forward to come Thursday, March 31. Weird West, for the uninitiated, is a new top-down action-RPG, serving as the debut effort of WolfEye Studios. While it’s not a first-person game, Weird West may still greatly appeal to fans of Dishonored and the Prey reboot, as WolfEye Studios is led by Arkane Studios veterans who worked on those popular games.

The new games coming to Xbox Game Pass this week are the main reason why it should be an exciting time for subscribers, but they aren’t the only reason for fans to look forward to the days ahead. Microsoft tends to reveal new Xbox Game Pass games at the beginning of each month, and since this coming Friday is April 1, chances are good that it will bring with it reveals for the new Xbox Game Pass games for April 2022.

Then again, Microsoft may wait until next week to pull the curtain back on the new Xbox Game Pass games for April 2022 instead, especially if none of the new games are coming until then. As it stands, Xbox Game Pass subscribers do know of at least one Game Pass game set to release next week, as MLB The Show 22 is launching April 5 as a day one Xbox Game Pass game.
