Bridgerton spoilers follow.
Bridgerton‘s Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley have teased what could be in store for their characters in season 3.
The latest season of the Netflix drama follows Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) as he catches the eye of Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). However, it’s not all plain sailing for their romance as her older, unmarried sister Kate (Simone Ashley) is dead-set against the match – and it’s Kate who Anthony finds himself attracted to.
Details regarding Bridgerton season 3 are scarce considering season 2 only debuted last week (March 25) on Netflix.
It’s so early, in fact, that in a chat with Digital Spy and other mediaJonathan and Simone confessed that bosses have yet to confirm whether they will be returning.
“We’ll have [to wait] and see if we’re invited,” said Jonathan.
Simone went on to share that she would love for the show’s writers to explore the relationship between Kate and Anthony on a deeper level.
“If I were to return for season three, I would love to continue Kate and Anthony’s love story and see them kind of play post-marriage and kind of enjoy that honeymoon romance that they deserve and a lot more horse riding,” she said.
Jonathan added: “And Kate is now the viscountess and once you’re married into the Bridgerton family, you’re married in.”
While Jonathan and Simone are confident about their return to the show, Charithra sadly doesn’t share the same outlook:
“For Edwina, I’d say she’s not a Bridgerton. And at the end of the day, the show is about the Bridgerton family. Edwina exists in the Bridger-verse, as we like to say, but I’ve been so happy to be, to have such a great part this season. And I’m just grateful for that.”
Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 are now available to watch on Netflix. Secret Cinema with Fever Present Bridgerton is open now in Wembley. To purchase tickets, head here.
